RE: The Open Organization Leadership Development Process

On May 3, the Trammell Crow accounting team on the Group Health Cooperative account celebrated the completion of their departmental plan, including departmental and individual goals and individual development plans for the year 2000.  Each member of the accounting team is now pushing the envelope to achieve those goals and working to develop their individual skills. The accounting team is working together, helping each other when appropriate, and displaying a synergy that has not previously existed.  This accounting team is far more effective and efficient now then since their transition to Trammell Crow in October 1998.

My participation as the leader in establishing the accounting team's departmental plan was very challenging and most rewarding.  The leadership skills I embraced to accomplish this plan were learned during The Open Organization's Leadership Development Process (The Process) I participated in over the last three months. Leading the development of departmental plans was only one of the many skills I learned during The Process.  I will focus on the balance of my experience in the remainder of this letter.

The intensity of The Process was vastly overcome by the rewards I am receiving now and will receive in the future. If I had the opportunity to participate in The Process again I would jump on it.  The Process is a valuable tool for any organization working to develop a team of leaders and take their business to the next level.

I thank you for the opportunity to participate in The Process and look forward to putting my learning to use in many different areas of my career and personal life.

Sincerely,

TRAMMELL CROW COMPANY
